DIY/Printable: Galentine’s Temporary Tattoos

Confession #1: I think tattoos are hot. Confession #2: I am a wimp AND bad at making up my mind AND look like a 12 year, so I will probably never get a tattoo.

However, that won’t stop me from playing my badass super cool alter ego every once in a while. Who says you need to make a lifetime commitment to feel cool? Instead, I just make my own temporary tattoos.

Last week, I held an unconventional Galentine’s Day Axe Throwing Party. I gathered a group of awesome women for a night of axe throwing, snacks on snacks on snacks, and a temporary tattoo station.

Guys, do you know how easy it is to make your own temporary tattoos?! Holy bananas, it’s amazing.

You will need:

Step 1: Create your designs! I designed some Galentine’s Day themed tattoos in Procreate on my ipad. If you want to use my designs, you can download them for free!

Step 2: Make sure to mirror your designs so that they look backwards when printed. This is so that if you have any words in your designs, they will come off onto your skin in the correct direction.

Step 3: Print your designs on the glossy paper that comes in your temporary tattoo paper pack. Let dry.

Step 4: Carefully place the clear plastic adhesive page on top of your designs. Warning: this is very sticky so once it touches it is hard to adjust. Get it as close as you can.

Step 5: Take a plastic card and rub it on the images to really smooth out any bubbles. This will ensure that you get all of your design transferred over.

Step 6: Cut out all of the individual tattoos. Get close to the design so that there isn’t too much of the clear part of the tattoo on your skin when you apply it.

And now for how to actually put them on:

Step 7: Peel the clear plastic off of the tattoo and place it image down onto your skin.

Step 8: Using a damp towel, press down on the tattoo for 30 seconds or so.

Step 9: Peel off the backing paper.

Step 10: Rock that bad boy!
