Do you ever daydream about your “parallel-universe” life? The life that if things had gone slightly different, you could totally see yourself living? For me, Angie Chua lives my parallel universe dream life! This California native is legit SO cool. Angie runs Bobo Design Studio, a lifestyle brand all about the bohemian wanderlust life and she fully lives her company’s ideals. She lives in a freakin’ 1975 Airstream with her husband and her dog (who I am also obsessed with) and is an avid traveler living the raddest boho life.
One of Angie’s products is her Wanderlust Passport that I am about to take on a long trip and I can’t wait to fill it! I’m so excited to have something creative and grounding to work on at the end of long travel days which can be full of so much excitement and energy, but leave me needing to find some focus. I’ll definitely update you guys on my pages.
So let’s see what Angie has to say about my 10 questions…
1. Describe your perfect morning.
Sleeping in till 8am with a cup of hot coffee waiting for me, and my inbox at zero. I am aware that this is a complete pipe dream on all fronts.
2. If you were a color or pattern, what would you be and why?
Oooh this is tough! I think if I had to be a pattern I’d be something that is hand drawn. I abhor perfection. I like things that are crooked, misshapen, filled with imperfections. So whatever the pattern, or color, i like it to be muddled and flawed.
3. After a long day, what do you do to take the edge off?
I always joke that the reason I pay for Netflix is so that I can watch Parks and Rec on an endless loop. When things are tough, overwhelming, or stressful, I like to grab a snack and plop myself on my tiny Airstream couch and just binge watch Parks and Rec. I’ve seen the seasons through about 25+ times, and the show still makes me laugh.
4. If you have company coming over, what’s your go-to recipe to impress?
In my hay day, I used to cook a lot. Now I live in an Airstream so we aren’t cooking like we used to. So the perfect meal for my guests would be a meal with some cocktails, firing up the grill, and lounging under the stars to some sweet tunes. It’s less about the meal, and more about the experience.
5. Recommend something to me.
Idaho. Stay with me here…. I have traveled to a few really cool places abroad, Asia, Africa, South America….. But one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to? Idaho. The landscape is nothing short of breathtaking.
6. What’s the most niche niche you are interested in?
Dachshund themed anything. It makes gift giving really easy for my friends.
7. What is your favorite beverage?
Peach La Croix. I can drink a whole case in one day if left unattended without adult supervision.
8. What was the last thing you laughed really hard at?
That Snapchat filter that is making the rounds right now. The one that turns anyone into a dreamy and beautiful woman is UHMAYZING. Let’s just say my husband is ready to divorce me over this filter because I’ve been snaking photos of him using this filter at least twice a day.
9. If you had $1000 to donate to any charity, where would you donate?
This is too difficult. One thing I’d do is split this into smaller donations across a few orgs, and partner with local tech companies here in the Bay Area to dollar match. With that said, Best Friends Animal Society, Planned Parenthood, local ACLU chapters that need it the most, Friends of Disabled Adults and Children, National Immigration Forum, just to name a few.
10. Do you eat in the bath?
Wait. Who takes baths?
See? Angie is the COOLEST. So tonight, in Angie’s honor, I shall take a snapchat filtered selfie of my half-Dashchund pup while we watch our favorite show, Parks and Rec.
