Adrienne Wiley is a powerhouse business woman. She created her Jewelery line, Frolick, back in 2004, and has since expanded her business footprint with her SF store, Covet. She is also a published author and career coach for creative entrepreneurs. So when I saw that she was teaching business classes at Craftcation, I jumped at the chance to attend.
And you know what? This woman knows her sh*t. I took her “Making Money Moves” workshop and learned so much. Immediately following the class, I found her and made sure I could include her as a 10 Questions Interview.
1. Describe your perfect morning.
My perfect morning starts with not checking email first thing when I wake up (lol). Then either making a latte and catching up on some of my favorite magazines, like Frankie or Conde Nast. Then if the weather isn’t too chilly, I love taking a walk to the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.
2. If you were a color or pattern, what would you be and why?
Hmmm.. If I were a color, it would probably be yellow. It’s bold and cheery and generally a color that makes you feel upbeat and happy. I like to think that I’m the same way…most of the time 🙂
3. After a long day, what do you do to take the edge off?
One of my favorite ways to unwind is actually to go to an aerial class at a studio called Raven Fitness. They have an evening class that’s all about stretching and doing different poses while suspended a few feet off the ground. It’s amazing! I always feel relaxed and refreshed afterwards.
4. If you have company coming over, what’s your go to recipe to impress?
My favorite “go to” dishes are usually from my Barefoot Contessa cookbook. The one I cook most often for guest is a lemon, arugula, and tomato fusilli pasta.
5. Recommend something to me.
I’m a lover of beauty products like serums, creams, and etc. My favorite thing to share is jade face rollers! If you don’t have one, I suggest getting one asap. They’re awesome! I keep mine in the fridge and every morning I put on my vitamin c serum, then use the roller afterwards. It helps make anything you put on your face penetrate deeper, as well as de-puffing, and getting rid of toxins. I love them so much I started carrying them at my store, Covet.
6. What’s the most niche niche you are interested in?
I love home decor, and right now I’m obsessed with symmetrical portrait walls. Instead of the usual portrait walls where it’s a collage of different frames and images. These walls usually have the same frame and the images in each one are all part of a similar grouping. It creates a beautiful, clean, and visually interesting effect.
7. What is your favorite beverage?
8. What was the last thing you laughed really hard at?
It was actually a hilarious ad someone sent me for custom slippers that are made to look like your pet. The pictures of these confused dogs and cats looking at their owners wearing plush versions of them had me cracking up!
9. If you had $1000 to donate to any charity, where would you donate?
I would donate it to About Face. A SF based women’s organization that’s all about fostering confidence and a positive self image in young women.
10. Do you eat in the bath?
I’m more of a shower person, so no bath “or shower” eating for me (lol)
Thanks for answering my weird questions, Adrienne! I need to go pop my jade roller in the fridge now, that’s a pro tip!
